It has been announced that the TV anime "Babanbabanban Vampire," based on the manga by Hiromasa Okushima currently being serialized in "Bessatsu Shonen Champion" (Akita Shoten), will be broadcast on TV Asahi's anime slot "IMAnimation" every Saturday at 11:30 pm from January 11, 2025. It will be exclusively distributed on Netflix from January 12 of the same year. Additional cast members were also announced, including Katsuyuki Konishi as vampire hunter Umetaro Sakamoto and Akiyoshi Sekine as Yamaba Kaoru (aka Yamanba), the leader of the gal gang G4.
Konishi, who will play vampire hunter Umetaro Sakamoto, a teacher at the high school attended by Tatsuno Rihito, the only son of a public bathhouse owner, who is actually pursuing the 450-year-old vampire Mori Ranmaru, commented, "I've always loved the original manga and have read it, and I thought that if I were to play the role, it would definitely be Umetaro, and it seems that my love has been delivered (laughs). I will do my best with all my love!" Sekine said, "I have the impression that Kaoru-chan is a girl who is really a bundle of contrasts. She has a fierce side and a cute side. I can't go into details because it would be a spoiler, but she is a girl who really works hard in every aspect, so I will do my best to convey her charms!"
The second key visual has also been released. It is an impactful visual with the main characters, Ranmaru and Rijin, soaking in a bath.
"Baban Baban Bang Vampire" will start serialization in "Bessatsu Shonen Champion" in October 2021. Mori Ranmaru, a 450-year-old vampire who hides his true identity and works as a live-in part-timer at a public bath, struggles to protect the chastity of the bathhouse's only son, Rijin (15 years old), in search of the ultimate taste of "18-year-old virgin blood." The anime will be directed and scripted by Kawasaki Itsuro and produced by GAINA. Namikawa Daisuke will play Mori Ranmaru and Kobayashi Yusuke will play Tatsuno Rijin.
It has also become a hot topic that a live-action movie will be released on February 14, 2025. Actor Yoshizawa Ryo will play Mori Ranmaru and Itagaki Rihito will play Tatsuno Rihito.
