It has been announced that a film based on the new Ultraman Arc special effects drama series, Ultraman, entitled Ultraman Arc THE MOVIE: Hyperdimensional Great Battle! Ark of Light and Darkness, will be produced and released on February 21, 2025. A trailer featuring the protagonist Tobise Yuuma, played by actor Totsuka Yuki, and other members of the Kaiju Disaster Prevention Research Institute (SKIP) has been released on YouTube, revealing that actor Takenaka Naoto will also be appearing. Tsujimoto Takanori, the main director of the TV series, will be directing the film. Details of the film will be announced in the future.
The release of the film was announced at the online event Ultraman Arc & Blazer Online Roundtable, which featured the main cast of Ultraman Arc and Ultraman Blazer, as well as director Tsujimoto. The roundtable will be available on YouTube from 1pm on November 23.
The theme of Ultraman Arc is "the power of imagination." Tobise Yuuma, a rookie researcher who has just joined the SKIP Monster Science Research Institute, merges with a messenger of light that has descended on Earth from a far-away galaxy, transforming into the giant Ultraman Ark and protecting the future of people and the Earth from an impending crisis. Tsujimoto, who has directed the New Generation Ultraman series since Ultraman X, will serve as the main director for the first time, with Tsuguta Jun, who has teamed up with Tsujimoto on the Ultraman series, handling the series composition and main scriptwriting.
The series airs every Saturday at 9am on TV Tokyo.
