The stage greeting to celebrate the completion of the movie "Doctor-X: The Movie FINAL" (directed by Tamura Naoki, to be released on December 6th) was held in Tokyo on November 19th, with the main cast including lead actress Yonekura Ryoko taking to the stage. In the opening greeting, Yonekura made a comment about Endo Kenichi's somewhat out-of-control talk.
The movie is the final installment of the drama series "Doctor-X: Surgeon Daimon Michiko", which began on TV Asahi in 2012 and stars Yonekura. Endo plays the doctor Ebina Kei, who continues to demonstrate his "will" by devoting himself to his boss Hiruma Shigekatsu (Nishida Toshiyuki), and in this film he achieves his long-cherished dream of becoming hospital director.
Regarding the conclusion of the series he has starred in for 12 years, Endo suddenly declared, "I was talking with everyone behind the scenes, and even though it's called 'FINAL,' I'm sure they'll do it again. But I guess I won't!" Looking at TV Asahi announcer Yoko Oshita, who was the MC for the day, he said, "Well, Oshita-san is hosting! I really feel like if a big name like her is hosting, it's going to be the end," drawing laughter from the audience.
Even though it was just a pre-screening greeting, he asked the audience, "Have you all seen it?", which drew a retort from his co-stars. When he realized his mistake and said, "You're going to watch it now!", he appealed, "We all put our hearts into our performances over the past 12 years, so please watch it with passion too."
The cast burst into laughter at Endo's somewhat out-of-control talk. Yonekura retorted, "I'm a bit tired from 'Minna no Ouji R' (the drama currently airing starring Endo-san)!" (laughs) to which Endo replied, "Don't say unnecessary things (laughs)!", showing a friendly exchange.
"Doctor X" depicts the exploits of Daimon Michiko (Yonekura), a genius freelance surgeon who "never fails" and hates groups, authority and restrictions. 12 years after its creation in 2012, the series will reach its finale with its first film adaptation by the cast that has led the series, including screenwriter Nakazono Miho and director Tamura Naoki. The story of the film reveals the "secret of Daimon Michiko's birth."
Also in attendance on the day were Tanaka Kei, Uchida Yuki, Imada Mio, Katsumura Masanobu, Suzuki Kosuke, Kishibe Ittoku, Sometani Shota, Nishihata Daigo, screenwriter Nakazono and director Tamura Naoki.
