It has been revealed that Daisuke Ono will be appearing in the drama CD "Moonlight Walküre" from the popular anime series "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED" "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM." Ono will play the new character Leonard Balway.
The drama CD will include "Neumann's Logbook," which is told from the perspective of the Archangel's famous helmsman Arnold Neumann, as well as newly recorded voice drama versions of the novels "The Escape of Two" and "Moonlight Walküre," which were given away as giveaways to theatergoers. The CD will be included in the Blu-ray Disc (BD) "Mighty Edition" and "Special Limited Edition." It will go on sale on December 25th.
The "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED" series' "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED" aired from October 2002 to September 2003, and its sequel, "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED DESTINY," aired from October 2004 to October 2005. "SEED FREEDOM" is a sequel to "SEED DESTINY," and Director Fukuda and other staff from the TV anime reunited. The production of the movie was announced in 2006, but there was no news about it for a long time. It was finally released about 18 years after the announcement. It was also announced that a new movie, "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM ZERO," a prequel to "SEED FREEDOM" that will be a "follow-up story" to "SEED DESTINY," will be produced.
"SEED FREEDOM" was released on January 26th and had a long run of about four months, surpassing the box office revenue of about 2.3 billion yen recorded by "Mobile Suit Gundam III: Encounters in Space" released in 1982, and has been a hot topic for breaking the all-time record for the highest box office revenue of a "Gundam" movie in the history of the series for the first time in about 42 years. A special edition was also released, which is a "complete version" with over 500 cuts of the main story updated, and it was a huge hit, grossing 5 billion yen and attracting over 3 million viewers, including the special edition.
