An event for Dragon Ball DAIMA, a completely new series of the anime Dragon Ball, based on the popular manga by the late Akira Toriyama, was held at New York Comic Con 2024, where Toriyama's illustrations of the series were unveiled. The illustrations include the setting of the new series, Daimakai, an airplane, and new characters Glorio and Troll.

Dragon Ball DAIMA was written by Toriyama, the original author who passed away in March of this year due to acute subdural hematoma, and was in charge of the story, character design, and settings. At the event, Dragon Ball series executive producer Akio Ino announced about Dragon Ball DAIMA, "This time, the setting is a completely new world called Daimakai. Toriyama himself drew this Daimakai, and we would like to reveal the illustrations for the first time in the world!", which drew huge cheers from the audience.

At the event, it was also announced that the English dubbed version of the film will be released in theaters in the United States and Canada from November 10th to 12th, and that Stephanie Nadolly, who appeared as a guest at the event, will voice Goku (mini) in the English dubbed version. Stephanie, who has played Goku as a child in previous Dragon Ball series, said, "I'm honored to be back as the voice actor for Goku once again. I think the new series will be enjoyable for fans of all ages."

At the venue, a video message from Masako Nozawa, who plays Son Goku and Son Goku (mini), was released. She expressed her thoughts on the fact that the first episode will be screened at the New York Comic Con, where the production of Dragon Ball DAIMA was announced about a year ago, saying, "It's been a year since then, and Dragon Ball DAIMA is finally starting. I'm doing my best to play Goku. I hope you enjoy the first episode until the end. Make sure you watch it!"

"Dragon Ball DAIMA" airs every Friday at 11:40 pm on Fuji TV.
