An event for Mobile Suit Gundam: Requiem of Revenge, a new addition to the popular Gundam anime series, was held at TOHO Cinemas Roppongi Hills (Minato Ward, Tokyo) on October 12th. The original 3D anime focuses on the European front of the One Year War in the first Mobile Suit Gundam series, and is directed by Erasmus Brosdau of Germany, known for such works as Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness. It was produced as a "Gundam for the world" and will be exclusively distributed worldwide on Netflix from October 17th. Director Brosdau, who appeared at the event, said, "Unlike previous Gundams, I wanted to give the impression that Gundam is clearly the enemy."

Director Brosdau, producers Yura Hiroaki and Yatomi Kenichi appeared at the event. Mori Nanako, who voices Illya Solari in the Japanese dub, was also scheduled to appear, but was unable to attend due to poor health.

Producer Yura said, "Human drama is at the core of Gundam, but Producer Ogata (Executive Producer Ogata Naohiro of Bandai Namco Filmworks, which is in charge of the series) asked me to 'express the size and fearsomeness of the mobile suits.' Not only the images but also the sounds have been carefully created, so I hope you will check it out."

The film was produced by Bandai Namco Filmworks and SAFEHOUSE using the 3D production tool "Unreal Engine 5." Producer Yatomi expressed his confidence, saying, "The entire film was made with Unreal Engine 5, and it is an unprecedented visual."

The story of "Mobile Suit Gundam: Requiem of Revenge" is set 11 months after the outbreak of the One Year War, when one of the bases under Zeon occupation in Eastern Europe is seized by the Earth Federation Forces, and a mixed battalion including Illya Solari and the Red Wolf Corps, who have just descended from space, set out to recapture it.
