In episode 1670, Dr. Hiyari makes a great invention called "Hiyaririnrin," which can freeze anything. Hiyaririnrin goes on a rampage in the town, freezing many things. Anpanman and his friends try to stop Hiyaririnrin.
Director Nagaoka Akinori commented, "This blue planet (Anpanman World) exists in perfect balance with the sun. What if a world came where the sun's light could not reach...? Mr. Yanase (Takashi) said that environmental issues are one of the themes of Anpanman, so I thought about it when making the episode."
"Soreike! Anpanman" began broadcasting on October 3, 1988. It is broadcast every Friday at 10:55 a.m. (Kanto local).
