A cut from the first episode of the TV anime "Orb: On the Movements of the Earth," based on the manga by Uo Yutaka, which was also selected as the Manga Grand Prize winner of the 26th Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize, titled "Shall we call it the 'Heliocentric Theory'?", has been released. The cut depicts the child prodigy Rafal, who is smiling broadly and holding out his hand, and the mysterious scholar Hubert.

In a certain European country in the 15th century, the child prodigy Rafal is allowed to skip grades and enter university, and in response to the expectations of those around him, he declares that he will major in theology, which was considered the most important subject at the time. However, he is unable to abandon his passion for astronomy, which he has been passionate about for a long time. One day, he meets a mysterious scholar named Hubert. Hubert, who was tortured and imprisoned for touching upon taboos based on heretical thought, was researching a shocking "certain hypothesis" about the universe.

The work was serialized in "Weekly Big Comic Spirits" (Shogakukan) from 2020 to 2022. Set in 15th century Europe, the series depicts people risking their lives to research the heretical theory of heliocentrism.

The anime will be produced by Madhouse, the studio behind "Summer Wars." Sakamoto Maaya will play Rafal, Tsuda Kenjiro will play Novak, the examiner for heresy, and Hayami Sho will play Hubert. It will be broadcast on NHK General TV from 11:45 pm on October 5th. The first episode will be aired consecutively.
