The ninth episode of the TBS Tuesday drama "Mirai no Musuko" (Tuesdays at 10 PM), starring actress Mirai Shida, aired on March 17th. The shocking twist at the end left viewers confused.

Mirai (Shida) and Masaki (Akihisa Shiono), former lovers, confessed their feelings for each other and decided to be together again.
Amidst all this, the time finally came for Souta (played by Yu Amano) to return to the future. Seeing Souta burst into tears from loneliness, Mirai, with tears welling up in her eyes, tried to sound cheerful and said, "It's okay, it's okay. Mommy and Ma-kun are waiting for you there."
Masao, who had been watching nearby, reassured Sota by saying, "Don't worry. The next time we meet, I'll be able to make the most delicious hamburgers. Leave Mom to me."
Then, the moment thunder rumbled, the circuit breaker tripped, plunging the room into darkness. When I flipped the breaker back on, Souta was nowhere to be seen...
The story then jumps to 2032, depicting Mirai and Masao living happily together. The episode ends with Mirai's narration: "Sota, who was supposed to be born in 2031, never appeared before us."
