On September 27, Fuji Television and Fuji Media Holdings (FMH) announced that they would establish a new company, Fuji Consumer Products LLC (FCP), to carry out IP (intellectual property) business, on October 1.

Fuji Television will invest 80% in FCP and FMH will invest 20%. FCP will carry out business activities after concluding a master license agreement with Fuji Television, and will initially develop IP business such as planning and sales, development and procurement, marketing, creative production, and consulting related to the licensing business centered on the company's characters, "Gachapin & Mukku" and "Chuggington."

Ishii Koji, Director of the Business Promotion Bureau of Fuji Television Network, Inc.'s Programming Department and Executive Officer, commented, "Fuji Television Network has long been a broadcasting station that excels at creating characters (IP). We decided that in order to realize an unprecedented initiative in the licensing business that utilizes those characters (IP), we needed a specialized company staffed by personnel with the necessary expertise. We will not only continue with our traditional business, but will also work with our partners to further expand our IP and develop peripheral businesses, while coordinating with the overall strength of Fuji Media Holdings Inc. to grow our business not only domestically but also globally."
