The NHK morning drama series "Tora ni Wings" starring Ito Sari will enter its final week on September 23rd. We spoke to Ito, who plays Torako, a woman who has survived in the legal world despite experiencing many setbacks, about her long journey so far.

"Even when I was acting, I had a lot of time to think, 'What was this person really thinking?' when it wasn't written in the lines. The way I think about things over and over is similar to me," Ito recalls. "Torako is a person who has grown little by little, but has also made many big mistakes. I myself have grown as a person through this drama. I was really happy to be Torako."
With filming now wrapped up, Ito said, "It was a very intense time. I'm glad I was able to make this work with this team, and I want to go back to the time of filming (laughs)." She also revealed some behind-the-scenes stories about Doi Shiori, who played her "ally" Yone, saying, "I was talking about that with Yone yesterday!"
"I think 'Tiger and Wings' is proof that 'it's okay for all kinds of people to exist.' And as I felt many times during the broadcast, 'Tiger and Wings' is a drama that has walked together with the viewers," Ito reflected.
"Just like myself, I think that as you watch and hear different thoughts through the characters, you think, 'that's an interesting way of thinking,' or 'this is a new feeling for me.' I would be happy if this work has given you something to think about."
