It has been revealed that episode 12 of the TV anime series Too Many Losing Heroines, based on the light novel from Shogakukan Gagaga Bunko (Shogakukan), entitled "Am I by any chance just a random mob character who appears next to the heroine in the final episode?" will be an original episode for the anime. The original episode was based on a concept by the original author, Takibi Amemori, and will be broadcast late at night on September 28th on TOKYO MX and other stations.

Komari Chika's "losing heroine visual" has also been released. The visual shows Komari standing in the literature club room in the aftermath of episode 11, "Shall We Talk About Responsibility for Results," in which Komari comes to terms with her own broken heart and Nukumizu is chosen to become the head of the literature club.

The series is a light novel written by Amemori and illustrated by Imigimuru. It also attracted attention when it was selected for the Gagaga Award at the 15th Shogakukan Light Novel Awards. The story depicts the slapstick coming-of-age story of loser heroines (McCains) including the gluttonous childhood friend-type heroine Anna Yanami, the energetic sports-type heroine Lemon Yakishio, and the shy small animal-type heroine Chika Komari. The anime is directed by Shotaro Kitamura and produced by A-1 Pictures. It is currently airing on TOKYO MX and other stations.
