The latest video from Chapter 4 "Rayquaza Rising," a new chapter for the Pokémon TV anime, has been released on YouTube. The video depicts the village of Kitakami, which is also the setting for the Pokémon Scarlet Violet: Zero's Treasure, and features popular characters from the game, including Zyra, Briar, and Sazare, as well as one of the remaining three Six Heroes Pokémon, Basagiri. Basagiri is a Pokémon that is said to have a larger chip on its axe the more battle-hardened it is, and one of the Six Heroes, Basagiri, has a more distinctive axe shape than normal individuals.
Additional cast members have also been announced, with Fukuen Misato playing Zyra, Shimamura Yu playing Briar, and Takanashi Marika playing Sazare.
Fukuen, who plays the role of Zail, commented, "I am truly happy to be able to return to Pokemon, which I have been involved with for a long time in the previous series. Zail is a girl who appears beautiful and cool at first glance, but she also has an extremely competitive side and is a unique character with strong emotions. It was a lot of fun to play her. The recording was done carefully, but the time passed in the blink of an eye. Please look forward to Zail's appearance!"
Shimamura, who plays the role of Briar, said, "When I previously appeared in the movie version, I was thrilled by the voices of the Pokemon, but the TV anime 'Pokemon' is also really soulful, and I was moved, thinking, 'Ah, this is Pokemon!' Briar was a more passionate person than I expected. I will face Pokemon with excitement together with Briar. In the eyes of Riko and Roy, she is a teacher, but I hope to work with her as a comrade in my quest."
Takano, who plays Sazare, said, "It's no exaggeration to say that Pokemon is the beginning of my career as a voice actress. I've been saying for 10 years now, 'I'll do any role if I can appear in Pokemon!' I never thought I'd get to play Sazare. She was a challenging character in the game 'Pokemon Scarlet Violet Zero', so she's a memorable character for me as a gamer. At first glance, she seems like a cool older sister, but I hope that my voice will make her sound like a friendly, kind person. I'm one of the people looking forward to seeing how she interacts with Riko and the others, and I'm sure everyone who's become familiar with her from the game...I can't say much, but...I'm sure you'd like to know more about Sazare! I hope you'll all love Sazare together through the anime!"
The new series of the TV anime "Pokemon" will start airing in April 2023. The entire Pokemon world is the stage, and the main characters, a girl named Riko and a boy named Roy, go on an adventure with Pokemon. It airs on TV Tokyo every Friday at 6:55pm. The new chapter will begin on October 11th.
