The cover illustrations for the Blu-ray Disc (BD) and DVD volume 1 of the second season of the TV anime "Oshi no Ko," based on the manga currently being serialized in "Weekly Young Jump" (Shueisha), have been released. They depict Arima Kana and Kurokawa Akane looking beautifully dressed up. The first BD and DVD volumes will go on sale on October 25th, priced at 9,900 yen for the BD and 8,800 yen for the DVD.
It was also announced that an event for the series, "TV Anime "Oshi no Ko" Special Event Ichigo Production ☆ Fan Appreciation Festival 2025," will be held at Tachikawa Stage Garten (Tachikawa, Tokyo) on February 2nd, 2025. The event will be divided into two parts, day and night. Appearing will be Otsuka Takeo as Aqua, Ikoma Yurie as Ruby, Han Megumi as Arima Kana, Iwami Manaka as Kurokawa Akane, Okubo Rumi as MEMcho, Uchiyama Kouki as Himekawa Daiki, Maeda Seiji as Narushima Melto, and Kobayashi Yusuke as Kamoshida Sakuya. A priority ticket application coupon for the event (evening session) will be enclosed in the first volume of the BD and DVD.
"Oshi no Ko" is a popular manga written by Akasaka Aka, who also wrote "Kaguya-sama: Love is War", and illustrated by Yokoyari Mengo, who also wrote "Scum's Wish", and began serialization in Weekly Young Jump in April 2020. The story depicts the twin brother and sister left behind by the genius idol Ai, who suddenly dies. Her twin sister, Ruby, admires her mother and enters the entertainment industry, while her brother, Aqua, vows to take revenge on their biological father, who is believed to have accomplices in Ai's murder.
The first season of the TV anime aired from April to June 2023. The second season has been airing since July on TOKYO MX and other channels.
