It has been announced that model and actor Kikuchi Himena, known as the "Reiwa Gravure Queen," will appear in the live-action drama "Wingman" (TV Tokyo and others, Tuesday midnight 12:30), based on Masakazu Katsura's popular manga. She will play Ogawa Miku, a kind and modest classmate who is moved by the protagonist Hirono Kenta's (Fujioka Makino) sense of justice and secretly has feelings for him.

The drama is based on the manga of the same name, which was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha) from 1983 to 1985 and was the serial debut of Katsura, who is known for "Video Girl Ai" and "I"s." The story is about Kenta, a high school student and special effects otaku, who gets his hands on a "Dream Notebook" that makes anything he writes come true, and gains the power to transform into his own hero, "Wingman," for just five minutes. Kato Konatsu will play Aoi, the heroine of this work, a mysterious girl who comes to the three-dimensional (Earth) world from the other-dimensional world of Podrimus.

Kikuchi commented, "Miku is a sweet girl with a gentle and feminine side. I was really encouraged by her determination and inner strength as she continues to love him wholeheartedly. I also feel that I have grown along with Miku through this work."

She also said that this was her first time trying action scenes, saying, "It was very difficult, but I did my best with everyone's advice. I think the scenes are very powerful! It's a fantastic work filled with bittersweet love and sparkling youth, with laughter, tears, and power. I hope many people will come and see it."

Seven additional cast members, including Kikuchi, have been announced, and it has also been revealed that Katada Yoi, Uehara Amane, Jotaro, Ohara Yuno, Mihara Ui, and Tachibana Haruki will also appear.

Katada plays Nunozawa Kumiko, an aspiring journalist who tries to find out the true identity of Wingman, Uehara plays Morimoto Momoko, the energetic member of the hero-loving action drama club, Jotaro plays Fukumoto Tomoo, Kenta's best friend who is amazed at Kenta's abnormal love of heroes but keeps a kind eye on him, Ohara plays Sakagami, who comes to Kenta's school as a teaching intern, Mihara plays Kurozu, a mysterious girl who helps Kenta and his friends with their independent action movie production, and Tachibana plays Saito Tatsuo, a mysterious transfer student.

The drama's key visual, showing the dynamic figure of Wingman, has also been released. The drama will start on TV Tokyo late at night on October 22nd. DMM TV will have exclusive unlimited viewing and simultaneous streaming, with the first episode being streamed one week early on October 16th.
