The sequel to the TV anime "New Prince of Tennis U-17 WORLD CUP," based on Konomi Takeshi's popular tennis manga "New Prince of Tennis," "New Prince of Tennis U-17 WORLD CUP SEMIFINAL," will begin airing on TV Tokyo and other networks from October 2nd. In response to this, a digest movie has been released on YouTube in which Inui Sadaharu and Yanagi Renji explain the story leading up to "SEMIFINAL." Inui Sadaharu and Yanagi Renji are characters who are good at "data tennis," and based on the data they have collected, they will explain the growth of the Japanese national team and the state of the U-17 World Cup qualifying league. Tsuda Kenjiro plays Inui Sadaharu and Takemoto Eiji plays Yanagi Renji.

"New Prince of Tennis U-17 WORLD CUP" is the first TV series in about 10 years since "New Prince of Tennis" aired in 2012, and depicts the qualifying league of the U-17 World Cup. It aired from July to September 2022. The sequel, "SEMIFINAL", will depict the semi-final between Japan and Germany.

"The Prince of Tennis" is a manga that was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha) from 1999 to 2008. It depicts the story of Echizen Ryoma, a tennis genius boy, who rises to prominence in the Seishun Academy tennis club and grows through battles with rival schools. A new series, "The New Prince of Tennis", has been serialized in "Jump SQ." (same publisher) since 2009.
