SAO:"GGO" TV anime second season, first new work in six years, visual shows Len holding a gun, PV also released

The second key visual for the second season of the TV anime "Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online (GGO)," based on a spinoff of Kawahara Reki's popular light novel "Sword Art Online (SAO)" (Dengeki Bunko), has been released. It depicts Ren and friends holding guns. It is also a hot topic that this is the first new work in about six years since the first season.

The latest PV has also been released. It starts with footage from the first season and leads to new footage from the second season, and also includes a part of the opening theme "GG" sung by ReoNa. It was released at the online event "Aniplex Online Fest 2024" held on September 16th.

"GGO" is a light novel written by Sigsawa Keiichi of "Kino's Journey" and illustrated by Kuroboshi Kouhaku, and is set in the game "Gun Gale Online," which also appeared in the second season of the "SAO" TV anime. It depicts female college student Kohiruimaki Karen fighting in the game world as Ren, known as the "pink devil." The first season of the TV anime aired from April to July 2018.

The voice actors, including Tomori Kusunoki as Ren and Yoko Hikasa as Pitohui, will reprise their roles in the second season. It will begin airing on TOKYO MX, BS11 and other stations from October 4th.
