It has been announced that comedian Hiroshi will star in the drama series "Hiroshi's Haunted Camp" (Thursdays at 10pm), which will begin airing on BS Nippon Television on October 10th. Hiroshi, who is also known as a "camping comedian" and a pioneer of the camping boom, will play the role of Hiroshi, the man who hosts the "Haunted Camp".

The drama is based on "Mountain Monsters: Mysterious Stories Told by Mountain People" (Yama to Keikokusha), a collection of strange and terrifying stories told by author Tanaka Yasuhiro from people who work and live in the mountains. Each episode will feature two terrifying mountain-related experiences, and at the end, a delicious camp meal will be served as a "palate cleanser", making this a unique combination of "ghost stories and camping food". Bears Shimada Camp, an active outdoor cooking researcher, will play the chef who prepares the camping food.

Hiroshi commented, "I like Goro Inagaki's horror shows and watch them often, so when I found out I was going to play the same role as Goro Inagaki, I was really excited. I was happy."

"I've been offered a lot of camping jobs up until now, but this is the first time I've been offered a job that combines my love of ghost stories with camping. As far as I know, there has never been a show that combines camping, mountain ghost stories, and cooking, so I was excited to see what it would be like. I think people all over the world will be excited too. I think it's a drama that will be enjoyed by both ghost story fans and camping fans, so please be sure to check it out." Also, in relation to the film, when asked about a strange experience he had in the mountains, he revealed, "Surprisingly, I don't have many scary experiences while camping, but... when I started solo camping for the third or fourth time, I was sleeping in my tent when I heard footsteps crunching around the campfire. I was scared, so I picked up a knife, opened the zipper of the tent and looked outside, but there was no one there! There were no footprints either..."
