To commemorate the fifth anniversary of the official fan club for the popular anime "Mr. Osomatsu," it has been announced that the first episode of a new, ultra-short anime, "Moon Viewing," will be streamed for free on YouTube at 6:06 pm on September 11. On moon viewing day, the Matsuno sextuplets engage in a fierce battle for the last remaining rice dumpling. The ultra-short anime will have four episodes, with the second episode being streamed exclusively to the official fan club in the future.
The official fan club is also running a campaign to give original bonuses to members who join and renew their membership by September 13.
"Mr. Osomatsu" is based on Fujio Akatsuka's comedy manga "Kun Osomatsu." It depicts the daily lives of the adult sextuplets, and its extreme gags have made it popular, especially among female anime fans. The first season of the TV anime aired from October 2015 to March 2016, the second season from October 2017 to March 2018, and the third season from October 2020 to March 2021. The movie "Osomatsu-san the Movie" was released in March 2019. The first new anime to commemorate the 6th anniversary, "Osomatsu-san: The Hippipo Tribe and the Shining Fruit," was released in theaters from July 2022, and the second, "Osomatsu-san: The Soulful Takoyaki Party and the Legendary Sleepover," was released in theaters from July 2023.
There is also talk that a fourth season of the TV anime will be produced.
