It has been revealed that the box office revenue of the fourth film in the "Kingdom" series starring Yamazaki Kento, "Kingdom: The Return of the General" (directed by Sato Shinsuke), has exceeded 7.5 billion yen. It has also been a huge hit, with audience numbers exceeding 5.13 million.

The film "Kingdom" is based on a historical manga by Hara Yasuhisa, set in China's Spring and Autumn Period and Warring States Period, and depicts the exploits of Shin, who aims to become the greatest general in the world, and Ei Sei, who later becomes the first emperor of Qin. Yamazaki plays Shin and Yoshizawa Ryo plays Ei Sei. The first film was released in 2019, the second in 2022, and the third last year, and the total number of viewers for the series has exceeded 10 million.

This film depicts the feud between the great general of the Qin state, Wang Qi (played by Osawa Takao), and the commander-in-chief of the Zhao state, Hou Ken (played by Kikkawa Koji). It was released on July 12th, and by August 1st, the 21st day after its release, it had surpassed the 5 billion yen mark for the fourth consecutive film. By August 9th, the 29th day after its release, it had surpassed the 5.7 billion yen mark, the highest in the series.
