On September 9th, actress Naka Riisa attended the first week completion press conference of the NHK morning drama "Omusubi" held at the NHK Broadcasting Center (Shibuya Ward, Tokyo). Naka, who plays the "legendary gal" Ayumu, the older sister of the heroine Yui (Hashimoto Kanna), said about her role, "It's the same as always. I feel like I'm breathing, filming. I think that among actresses, I'm probably the closest to gals, like I'm next to gals, so I think I was able to act without any awkwardness."

Naka, who was born in 1989, said, "Looking at the older women of a slightly older generation, growing up in the countryside of Nagasaki, I relied on magazines and TV to get information about gals. I was an elementary school student at the time, so I couldn't play gals, but I think that the admiration that comes with being an elementary school student, and the desire to pursue gals even now, are stronger than anyone else's."

There is a scene in the movie where the heroine, Hashimoto Kanna, dresses up as a gal, and Naka praised Hashimoto's gal look, saying, "It's perfect. It's the look I was looking for. When the makeup artist showed me the test photos of Hashimoto as a gal, I screamed and said, 'This is it!' She's cute even as a gal, it's amazing. It suits her so well. She's the king of gals."

Also attending the press conference were Aso Kumiko, who plays Yui and Ayumu's mother, Aiko, and Kitamura Yukiya, who plays their father, Masato.

"Omusubi" is a "Heisei youth graffiti" in which the heroine, Yoneda Yui, born in 1989, connects people's hearts and futures as a nutritionist, with the "gal spirit" of valuing one's individuality at all times. The work is an original work by screenwriter Nemoto Nonji, known for NHK's drama "Shojiki Real Estate." It will be broadcast on NHK General TV from September 30th, Monday to Saturday at 8am and other times.
