It was revealed on September 9th that "The Drifters," a legendary variety show celebrating its 60th anniversary this year, will be making a comeback on September 16th. Titled "Revival Tonight! It's 8 o'clock! All Together! Inappropriate but Laughable! The Best 20 Drifter Legendary Sketches!", it will be broadcast on TBS from 6:30 pm on September 16th for three and a half hours.
"It's 8 o'clock! All Together" was a live broadcast program for about 16 years from October 1969 to September 1985. It produced many hit gags and recorded high viewer ratings, and is still talked about as a "monumental achievement in variety shows." This time, we will introduce the best 20 masterpieces from all 803 broadcasts. Kato Cha and Takagi Boo will also share behind-the-scenes stories that they can only talk about now.
The top 20 were selected by a group of 500 family members from across the country who gathered at Mitaka City Public Hall in Tokyo, where the first public recording of "It's 8 o'clock! All Together" took place, and after enjoying a number of legendary skits on the giant screen on stage, they all voted together.
The show will also broadcast a selection of legendary scenes from "Kato-chan Ken-chan Gokigen TV," which took over from "It's 8 o'clock! All Together" and began in January 1986 with the duo Kato and Shimura Ken, and which featured a recorded style, to "THE DETECTIVE STORY," which featured a detailed, authentic studio drama.
Also appearing will be Akimasa Haraguchi, comedy duo Pekopa, Yuchami, Ikki Sawamura, Hiroya Shimizu, and King & Prince's Nagase Ren.
