The NHK Taiga drama "To You, Shining" (General TV, Sunday 8pm and others) stars actress Yoshitaka Yuriko. The subtitle of the 35th episode, which will be broadcast on September 15th, is "Tears of the Empress," and the synopsis and scene cuts have been released.

◇Spoilers below

"To You, Shining" is the 63rd Taiga drama. Set in the aristocratic society of the mid-Heian period, the protagonist is Murasaki Shikibu (Mahiro), who later wrote "The Tale of Genji," said to be the world's oldest novel written by a woman. The script was written by Oishi Shizuka, who is writing a Taiga drama for the second time since "Koumyou ga Tsuji" in 2006, and depicts the glittering world of Heian aristocrats and the life of a woman who lived, wrote, and loved with all her heart.

In the 35th episode, Michinaga (Emoto Tasuku) goes to Mt. Ontake with his son Yorimichi (Watanabe Keisuke) to pray for the pregnancy of the Empress Shoshi (Migami Ai).

However, plagued by a rugged journey and bad weather, they struggle to reach their destination, Kinpusenji Temple, when Ise (Miura Shohei) appears with his warriors and makes some disturbing moves. Meanwhile, Emperor Ichijo (Shiono Akihisa), who has become interested in the stories Mahiro (Yoshitaka) is writing, asks Mahiro about the true meaning of the stories and compares them to his own circumstances.

Mahiro then learns Akiko's true feelings... and so the story unfolds.
