The eighth episode of the popular TBS Sunday drama "Reboot," starring Ryohei Suzuki, aired on March 15th (Sundays at 9 PM). A shocking truth about Ichika, played by Erika Toda, was revealed, drawing praise from viewers who called her acting "amazing."

Regarding Ichika, there had been speculation on social media that she might be a "reboot" version of Hayase's wife, Natsumi (played by Sayaka Yamaguchi).
In episode 8, just as viewers had predicted, it was revealed that Natsumi had rebooted Ichika.
Three years ago, Natsumi was suspected of stealing 1 billion yen from Goroku (Yukiya Kitamura) and was told to "reboot" if she didn't want her family to be killed. The person she rebooted with at that time was the "real" Ichika (Erika Toda).
When the real Ichika welcomed Natsumi into the hideout, she seemed intrigued, saying, "Wow! So this is the face that will become mine!" She then introduced herself, saying, "I've been told to teach you a lot of things to help you become me over the next six months. Nice to meet you." Living with Natsumi in the hideout, Ichika imparted all sorts of information about herself and her family to Natsumi.
After being re-transformed into Ichika through surgery, Natsumi faced the real Ichika and prepared a cake, saying, "Isn't this like a birthday for Ichika-chan as she embarks on a new life?" She expressed her gratitude to Ichika for everything up until now, saying, "Thank you for everything." Ichika then clasped her hands together and said, "I pray that Natsumi-chan will one day be able to return to her family," and encouraged her to never give up.
Amidst all this, Ichika begins by saying, "I have one last request," and asks for the 150 million yen she has acquired to help her younger sister, Ayaka (Yuki Yoda). Furthermore, she reveals that the 150 million yen is money she will receive in exchange for offering her life to Goroku. The real Ichika and the rebooted Ichika look at each other with serious eyes and plead, "Please, save Ayaka," while the rebooted Ichika looks on with a suspicious expression. Immediately afterward, the real Ichika is shot and killed by one of Goroku's henchmen...
