It has been announced that the TV anime "Ao no Hako," based on the popular manga by Miura Koji currently being serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha), will be broadcast on 28 TBS affiliated stations every Thursday at 11:56 pm starting October 3rd. It was also announced that the band "Official Hige Dandism (Higedan)" will be in charge of the opening theme (OP) "Same Blue," and singer-songwriter Eve will be in charge of the ending theme (ED) "Teenage Blue." The first refreshing key visual, featuring the protagonist Inomata Taiki with a bright smile and Shikano Chinatsu, the girl Taiki has feelings for, as well as the official PV that plays the opening and ending themes, have also been released. Official Hige Dandism commented, "You feel so passionate that you forget time and yourself, and encounter your immature and weak self. The vivid colors of youth are conveyed through the work so much that it almost stains your heart, and it gave birth to straightforward words and a sense of speed so fast you might stumble. Feelings about love and feelings about club activities are different, but they have the same "blueness" that drives your heart to move strongly, and it is the same "blue" that exists within me as the composer. However, each of them experiences various things, and it becomes cloudy or clear. I think that such feelings are overflowing in this song."

Eve commented, "The times when I was absorbed in something and forgot time, the ordinary days were special to me, and before I knew it, we had become adults. 'Ao no Hako' is an important work that reminds me of such things. I packed it with things that I could make because I'm no longer a teenager. I would be happy if you could feel that through the work." It was also announced that ASICS Japan, Adidas Japan, Otsuka Pharmaceutical, Sunshine City, Descente Japan, Mizuno, and Yonex will be cooperating companies.

"Ao no Hako" is set at Eimei Gakuen, a powerhouse school for junior and senior high school sports, and tells the story of a youthful club love story in which Inomata Daiki, a member of the boys' badminton club, falls in love with Shikano Chinatsu, a senior member of the girls' basketball club. The story delicately depicts the dedication of life-sized characters as they devote themselves to club activities with their own feelings in mind, and the subtle emotions that occur when you fall in love with someone. The series began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in April 2021. The comics have sold over 5 million copies in total.

In the anime, Chiba Shoya will play the protagonist Inomata Daiki, and Ueda Reina will play Shikano Chinatsu. The anime will be produced by Telecom Animation Film, the studio behind the Lupin the Third series.
