Doi Shiori, who has been making waves for her role as Yamada Yone, a cross-dressing lawyer, in the NHK morning drama series "Tora ni Wings" (General), has been revealed to be appearing in the TV Asahi drama series "Muno no Taka" (Fridays at 11:15pm, excluding some regions), which begins on October 11th. With a drastic image change from the black-haired Yone, she will play an orange-haired "lazy engineer" in this production.
The drama is a live-action adaptation of the manga of the same name by Hanzaki Asami, which is currently serialized in the manga magazine "Kiss" (Kodansha), starring Nanao. This "ultra-relaxed work comedy" depicts the refreshingly incompetent life of Takano Tsumeko (Nanao), a shockingly incompetent new employee who looks super competent but can't make copies or even start up a computer. The show will be produced by TV Asahi producer Sari Kijima, known for the "Ossan's Love" series (2016-2024), "If I'd Kissed You Then" (2021), and "Unknown" (2023).
Doi plays Yumi Mozuo, an engineer in the development department. She is a free spirit who always wears a hoodie and has the catchphrase "Dal...". Doi commented, "I've had short black hair for the past year, so I still think, 'Who is that?' every time I see myself in a wig (laughs). I also like the quirky and cute costumes."
Regarding the work, which is billed as a "super-relaxed work comedy," she appealed, "I hope to deliver a time on Friday night when you can relax a little and think that life might be interesting after all, so please relax and enjoy it!"
Also appearing in the film were actor Ando Tamae, who also appears in the popular film "The Last Mile," Miyao Shuntaro, a world-renowned ballet dancer who is also active as an actor, and Nagata Takato, who gave a passionate performance as Yamanami Keisuke in the currently airing "You Go and Bloom: Shinsengumi Youth Records."
Ando will play Shigiishi Iku, a virtuous man who coolly brings his eccentric development department manager under his subordinates, Miyao will play Ikaruga Ryusei, an eccentric engineer with blonde hair, long hair and a small mustache, and Nagata will play Karasumori Ouji, an "overly cunning" HR department employee.
