It has been announced that Nikaido Yuki's popular manga "Ame to Kimi to" (Rain and You), which is currently being serialized in the manga magazine "Young Magazine" (Kodansha), will be made into a TV anime in 2025. A visual showing the main character Fuji and her dog (?) "Kimi" holding an umbrella has been released. Details of the anime will be announced in the future.
The story depicts the heartwarming and precious daily life of a "person" and "animal" who meet on a rainy night. The manga, which was announced on X (Twitter), became a hot topic and was serialized in "Young Magazine". Six volumes of the comic have been released, with a total circulation of over 500,000 copies. The latest volume, volume 7, will be released on September 5th.
The author Nikaido commented, "I remember that when I had the opportunity to tour the studio on this occasion, they gave me a very detailed tour. I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of animation it will be." To commemorate the TV anime adaptation, an illustration drawn by Nikaido of "Kimi" visiting the studio was also released.
The anime's official website will be running a giveaway campaign for an original illustration board by Nikaido.
