To commemorate the 30th anniversary of "After War Gundam X," a popular anime series from the "Gundam" franchise, "After War Gundam X Complete Records Collection AW 30th Chronicle" will be released on January 26, 2027. The book will include setting materials for characters, mobile suits (MS), battleships, etc., as well as rough designs of MS by mechanical designer Kunio Okawara , rough character designs by character designer Masayoshi Nishimura, production materials such as planning documents, and roundtable discussions with four sets of the renowned cast.
The roundtable discussion will feature Wataru Takagi ( Garrod Ran ), Mika Kanai (Tiffa Adill), Kenyu Horiuchi (Jamil Neate), Kazuya Nakai (Witz Sue), Takumi Yamazaki (Roaby Roy), Toshiyuki Morikawa(Shagia Frost), Nozomu Sasaki (Olba Frost), Kotono Mitsuishi (Toniya Maam), and Yumi Kakazu (Sarah Tyrell). A draft of the illustration for the slipcase box, drawn by mechanical designer Junya Ishigaki, has also been revealed. Price: 14,300 yen.
An encore pressing of the Blu-ray Disc Memorial Box, originally released as a limited-edition product in 2018, has also been announced. It will be released on March 26, 2027.
"After War Gundam X" aired from April to December 1996 as the third installment of the Alternative series. It depicts the resurgence of a world war and its consequences from the perspective of Earth (the Vulture ship Freeden), which suffered unprecedented damage from a colony drop. The story centers on the battle between the Freeden and the New Earth Federation Forces and the Space Revolutionary Army, with major themes including Garrod's growth as he struggles to protect Tiffa and the existence of "Newtypes" who transcend humanity. The series was directed by Shinji Takamatsu, known for works such as "Brave Express Might Gaine."
