"Detective! Night Scoop" (ABC TV, Fridays at 11:17 PM) is a popular variety show where "detectives" tackle bizarre requests and worries submitted by viewers. On May 15th, Detective Hiroshi Tamura investigated "a girl who wants testicles." Special Director Suzuki Osamu, Assistant Director Takeyama Takanori, and Secretary Masuda Saori appeared on the show.
The request came from a 37-year-old woman in Fukuoka Prefecture. One day, while she was taking a bath with her 6-year-old daughter, Nina, Nina suddenly asked, "Mommy, do girls not have testicles?" The woman replied, "No, only boys do." Nina then asked, "How many do you have?" The woman answered, "Two." Nina responded, "What?! Really? So that means Daddy and my big brother each have two? That's four in total! I want one!" The woman was touched that Nina could do addition.
It's still a long way off, but Nina is determined to ask Santa for testicles this year! The other day, she told her kindergarten teacher that she wanted testicles, and the woman's face turned bright red. Nina has been asked for testicles by her dad, older brother, grandpa, and uncle, but has been repeatedly refused. The teacher was asking if it would be possible to find some for her.
Nina suddenly asks Detective Tamura, "How many testicles do you have?" and "I want one." She even prepares a display case in case she gets a testicle, so she's fully prepared. However, the picture of testicles she has drawn is very colorful, and it seems she doesn't know what the real thing looks like. So, they head to the mountains to look for testicles... What method will they use to convince a 6-year-old girl about the "testicle problem"?
