A new visual has been released for "Blue Lock ," the live-action film adaptation of the popular soccer manga currently serialized in "Weekly Shonen Magazine" ( Fumiya Takahashi ). Directed by Yusuke Yoichi Isagi (Fumiya Takahashi), Team V, including Seishiro Nagi(K) and Reo Mikage(Keito Tsuna Tsuna), as well as Teams Y, X, and W. Each of them is shown with their ego laid bare, striving to become the world's best striker. The visual will be displayed as a large banner in theaters nationwide starting May 15th.
The official social media accounts announced new cast members starting May 8th. Tomimoto Sosuke will play Futako Kazuki of Team Y, Kida Keisuke will play Okawa Hibiki, and Higashi Keisuke will play Barou Shoei of Team X. It was also announced that Miura Ryota, the eldest son of former Japan national soccer team player Miura Kazuyoshi and an actor himself, will play both Wanima Junichi and Wanima Keisuke, the twins of Team W.
"Blue Lock" is a manga series written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomura, serialized in "Weekly Shonen Magazine" since 2018. The cumulative circulation of the comic books exceeds 50 million copies. The Japan Football Association launches the "Blue Blue Lock" project to train strikers who will lead Japan to victory in the FIFA World Cup, and 300 high school forwards gathered from all over the country engage in a fierce survival competition. The film is being produced by CREDEUS, the production company behind popular works such as the "Kingdom" series, the "Golden Kamuy" series, and "National Treasure".
