Actor Toshio Shiba will appear on Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi), airing on May 4th at 1 PM, along with his wife, actress Kyoko Mano.
The couple will celebrate their 47th wedding anniversary this year. Their personalities are polar opposites; Mano is always angry, while Shiba says, "I'm the one who has to be patient." Their daughter, Shibamoto Yuki, graduated from Keio University and had a successful acting career, including playing the heroine in the 2007 NHK Taiga drama "Furin Kazan." However, she later moved to Los Angeles and became a recorder player.
The couple had both been involved in volunteer and other social activities for many years, but with their daughter Sachi's return to Japan, the three of them have now started charity work together. Ms. Shiba says she became a graduate student in her 70s to learn how to make society a better place.
