Actor Tomohisa Yamashita appeared at the premiere screening of his starring film "Shijiki Fudosan" (directed by Taisuke Kawamura), held at the Tokyo International Forum (Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo) on April 30th.
The series is based on the manga of the same name serialized in "Big Comic" (Shogakukan). It's a social comedy about Nagase Zaichi (Yamashita), a real estate salesman who, after a strange turn of events, can no longer lie, and who uses only his honesty and integrity as weapons to delve into the "dark side" of the real estate industry. The TV series aired on NHK in 2022, followed by a special drama and a second season of the TV series in 2024.
Yamashita shared her thoughts on the show, saying, "' Shijiki Fudosan' is a place where I can be my true self. The sense of home that the staff and cast create is warm and comfortable. Sometimes I want to go back to the Tosaka Real Estate office."
It is said that there was a lot of improvisation during filming, and Katsunori Takahashi, who played Masato Ikaruga, the president of Minerva Real Estate, which is at odds with Tosaka Real Estate, complained, "He says a lot of things that aren't written in my script. (Yamashita) seems to think that all he has to do is say 'I'm sorry' when the director calls cut." Yamashita confessed, "I've been working with Takahashi-san for over 10 years, and I've become selfish because I feel so secure knowing that he'll catch whatever I throw at him. To be honest, I might have thought that all I had to do was say 'I'm sorry' at the end."
Haruka Fukuhara, Hayato Ichihara, Rika Izumi, Rika Izumi and Ai Mikami from the comedy duo "Sissonne,"Ai Mikami Kurashina, Masao Kusakari, and director Kawamura also appeared at the event. The film will be released on May 15th.
