Kaori Hosoki, daughter and successor to Kazuko Hosoki, known for her Six-Star Astrology, appeared in a documentary segment on ABEMA's news program "ABEMA Entertainment." She spoke about the "truth" about Kazuko Hosoki and denied the "shady connections" that had been rumored in the media.
Kazuko, who was known as the "Queen of Ratings" for her life advice programs that consistently achieved high viewership ratings, was sometimes criticized by the public for rumors of shady connections due to her strong personality. However, Kaori recalls, "(My mother) used to say, 'You don't need to be liked by everyone,' and 'It's okay if some people don't understand you.'" Regarding the "shady connections," she denied them, saying, "I really want to talk about that too," and "There really aren't any," adding, "She hasn't done anything wicked."
Furthermore, speaking about Kazuko's true character, which she knows best because she has seen her up close, she confessed the gap between her public image and the reality: "She's just too kind... she'll help anyone in need. She can be harsh at times, but to us, she's just a slightly ditzy grandmother. She has a very charming side."
At the time, her personal consultations were charged a flat rate of 100,000 yen, but Kazuko revealed her loving side, saying, "There were parents and children, or elderly couples, who would come clutching 100,000 yen, which was all they had. I would listen to their problems and then return it to them saying, 'This is from me.'"
