It has been announced that the final live performance of the all-female rock band SHISHAMO, to be held on June 14th in Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture, will be broadcast live on WOWOW. SHISHAMO, who made their CD debut in 2013 and have been a passionate force in the rock scene for 13 years, will end their activities with this live performance. WOWOW has also announced a lineup of special features for three consecutive months, including this live performance.
Formed in a high school light music club, SHISHAMO produced many hit songs after their CD debut in 2013, including "Boku ni Kanojo ga Dekita n da," "Kimi to Natsu Fes," and "Ashita mo." With their fast-paced, upbeat melodies and straightforward songs about the feelings of love and the courage to face tomorrow, they have enjoyed popularity, especially among young people. However, they will be ending their activities with a two-day live concert, "SHISHAMO THE FINAL!!! ~Thanks for everything~," to be held on June 13th and 14th at Uvance Todoroki Stadium by Fujitsu (Todoroki Athletics Stadium) in Kawasaki City, the band's hometown.
Todoroki Athletics Stadium is a place the band has long dreamed of performing at. They had planned to hold a concert there twice before, but the first time it was canceled at the last minute due to a typhoon. The second time it was canceled again due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Finally, their wish to perform a live show at "Todoroki" in Kawasaki City, their hometown, is about to come true.
WOWOW will broadcast and stream live the second day's "GOODBYE DAY" event, titled "Live Broadcast! SHISHAMO THE FINAL!!! ~Thanks for everything~ GOODBYE DAY," on WOWOW Live and WOWOW On Demand from 5 PM on June 14th.
