The synopsis and still images for the second episode of the drama series "Galaxy Vote" (Kansai TV/Fuji TV, Mondays at 10 PM), starring actress Haru Kuroki, have been released. The episode will air on April 27th.
Akari (Noro Kayoko) is bewildered when Mari (Kuroki) suddenly begs her to run for governor of Tokyo. She refuses, saying there must be someone more suitable, but Mari refuses to back down.
Mari had a plan. Having been disowned by her father, Takaomi (played by Yajuro Bando), who wielded immense influence as the secretary-general of the largest ruling party, the Minseito, and having lost all her backing, there was only one way for her to return to politics. She had to get Akari to win the election and become governor of Tokyo, and then have Akari appoint her as vice-governor.
While Akari is moved by Mari's straightforward declaration that "it's not just anyone who will do," she firmly refuses to run for office, as she cannot quit her job at the snack bar "Toshiko."
Around the same time, a fierce battle was underway within the Minseito party over the Tokyo gubernatorial election. While Takaomi was steadily making preparations behind the scenes to nominate his protégé, Ryusei (played by Kohei Matsushita), members of the Tokyo branch of the party who opposed him began to move to select their own candidates.
At that moment, Mari is summoned by Takaomi's secretary, Shizukuishi (played by Yamaguchi Makiya), who delivers a message from Takaomi. It is a cruel "ultimatum" that her father has issued to the daughter who betrayed him...
The drama is an "election entertainment" story in which the protagonist, played by Kuroki, who has been ousted from the political world, recruits a bar owner with no political experience as his election strategist and takes on the Tokyo gubernatorial election.
