A screening event for "Yoroiden Samurai Troopers," a new television anime series that is a direct sequel to the "Yoroiden Samurai Troopers" TV anime series which aired from April 1988 to March 1989, titled "'Yoroiden Samurai Troopers' Screening Event with Wakasa, Part 1," was held on April 20th at Shinjuku Piccadilly (Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo). Hiroya Ishibashi, who plays Gai, and Takuma Terashima, who plays Kamanosuke, made an appearance. This is the first new anime in approximately 35 years since the OVA "Yoroiden Samurai Troopers MESSAGE" released in 1991, and the first TV anime series to air in approximately 37 years. It will be broadcast in two parts, with the first part airing from January to March. Episodes 1 to 4 were screened at the event, and Ishibashi and Terashima looked back on the first part.
In the first episode, a gate suddenly appears connecting the demon world and the human world, and the demons begin their invasion of the human world, depicting an intense battle scene. Terashima said he was surprised, saying, "It's too much! The staff of this work have no heart! It's crazy. They've gone all out from the very beginning. I was worried about whether it would be okay from here on out," and Ishibashi nodded, saying, "It was shocking." As Ishibashi said, "I was surprised when I saw the script," the shocking developments continued from the second episode onwards.
Terashima praised the film, saying, "The animation is really good!" The beautiful visuals are also a major draw. When Terashima asked, "You've made the outlines thicker, isn't that a lot of work?", producer Tsukamoto Kiyoshi, who was the MC for the screening, revealed, "We rely on the photography to some extent," to which Terashima excitedly replied, "Show me that process! I'm an animation enthusiast, so I want to see it! Put it on the package!"
It was announced that the second season will begin airing in July, and a promotional video for the second season was also shown. Ishibashi hinted, "The Tendoukai has begun its invasion, and Inmei will be making a full-fledged appearance. Someone who looks like Ryusei has also appeared, right? What's going on? Is he the real one? Or a fake?" Terashima seemed curious about Inmei, saying, "It's Koyasu (Takehito), right?! But, we don't know what will happen..."
Terashima revealed his feelings, saying, "Gai is similar to the character I played in my anime debut, and Nobuo Tobita mentioned that to me. I was happy to know that there was someone who had been watching me grow, and that I could see Hiiro's growth." Ishibashi responded with delight, "I'm overwhelmed with emotion!"
Finally, Ishibashi appealed to viewers about the upcoming second season, saying, "The human world, the demon world, and the heavenly realm are going to be amazing! Will Gai come back?! It's going to be even more exciting, so please look forward to it!"
