Model and TV personality Yuchami appeared at the completion announcement event for the film "Agito - Supernatural Warfare -" (directed by Ryuta Tasaki, opening April 29) held in Tokyo on Getsuku. This film marks Yuchami's first movie appearance, and she expressed her gratitude to director Tasaki for his "loving but strict guidance."
The film is a commemorative work for the 55th anniversary of Kamen Rider's birth and is the latest theatrical film adaptation of "Kamen Rider Agito" (2001-2002), the second series in the Heisei Kamen Rider series. Jun Kaname, who played Kamen Rider G3/Makoto Hikawa in "Agito," stars in the film, and the original cast, including Toshiki Kashu, who played Kamen Rider Agito/Shoichi Tsugami, reunites. As with the TV series, director Tasaki is at the helm, and Toshiki Inoue is in charge of the screenplay. In a world where people are beginning to awaken to "superpowers" one after another, the film depicts the rampage of those with power and the resolve of those without power.
Yuchami, who was born in 2001, the year "Agito" was broadcast, will play the new character Kamen Rider G6/Ruriko Aoi in this series. She was delighted, saying, "I never thought a gal like me would get to play a Kamen Rider!"
With the release date approaching, she expressed her anxieties, saying, "There was a huge buzz on X about me becoming a G6 member, so I was really anxious and nervous about what would happen... I'm really scared in a good way," but then appealed to her fans, saying, "I hope everyone will enjoy it."
When asked to name their "hero," each cast member answered "Director Tasaki." She smiled and said, "It was my first time appearing in a film, and I was really clueless about acting, but I was able to take on the challenge and received loving yet strict guidance from Director Tasaki, which made me very happy." She continued, "I haven't often received such loving yet straightforward advice as Director Tasaki. In a good way, he's like a 'Showa-era director,' and I really loved him!"
Director Tasaki responded with a laugh, saying, "I'm a director from the Showa era (laughs)," and then praised the director, saying, "I heard it was his first film, but he has the courage and 'on-set intuition' that you wouldn't expect. Please watch it with keen eyes. I think it's wonderful."
