The first episode of the Tuesday drama "Toki Sude ni Osushi!?" (TBS, Tuesdays at 10 PM), starring actress Hiromi Nagasaku, aired on April 7th. Kenichi Matsuyama, who played the role of sushi academy instructor Kamiya Oedo, received praise on social media, with comments such as "He looks like a real sushi chef" and "His sushi-making technique is so natural."

The drama tells the story of Minato Machiyama (played by Nagasaku), who, having finished raising her children, is bewildered by the "time to herself" that she finally has again at the age of 50, but begins her second life and jumps into a "sushi academy" where she can become a sushi chef in three months.
Minato and Sakita (played by Anka), who work at a supermarket, were observing a regular customer who had come into the store. This customer always looked at the fresh fish section with a sharp gaze and was known among the staff as "Fish Boss." On this day too, "Fish Boss" was browsing the fresh fish section with a furrowed brow when he suddenly saw his own face in the mirror and was shocked by how "frightening" it looked. Minato and the others could only comment on his behavior.
Meanwhile, Minato enrolls in the "Sushi Academy" and meets the instructor, Oedo. That instructor turns out to be none other than the "Fish Boss."
Oedo began by strictly instructing the students on their mindset, saying, "Think of greetings as the starting point for standing at the starting point as a craftsman. In other words, those who cannot do that do not deserve to stand at the starting point!" Oedo, skillfully forming sushi with his hands, then appealed to the students, saying, "It took me 20 years to get this far. But even this is not the finish line. You are trying to do the same in three months. You have no idea how reckless that is. Be sure to be prepared."
Social media was buzzing with comments like, "Kenichi Matsuyama as a sushi academy instructor is so impressive," "Kenichi Matsuyama looks like a real sushi chef. He must have practiced a lot," "Matsuken is just like Sakana-gumi's boss, his sushi-making technique is so cool," and "Oedo is so captivating that I want to watch it every week just to see Kenichi Matsuyama's Oedo."
Since Matsuyama played a pastry chef in the TBS Sunday drama "Reboot," which aired until last month, some people on social media commented, "Kenichi Matsuyama is amazing... In Reboot he was a kind cake shop owner, but now he looks like nothing but a stern sushi chef!"
