NHK drama "Owakare Hospital 2," starring actors Yukino Kishii and Kenichi Matsuyama, will be broadcast on terrestrial television on April 4th and 11th in the network's Saturday drama slot (NHK General, Saturdays at 10 PM), which is making a comeback after six months. The drama is a live-action adaptation of the manga of the same name by Bakka Okita, known for works such as "Transparent Cradle," and is a sequel to the drama that aired in 2024.
The script is written by Naoko Adachi , who also wrote the scripts for the same network's "Transparent Cradle" and " Okaeri Mone ," and depicts the irreplaceable days spent in a hospital's convalescent ward. In this ward, which is closest to death, nurse Ayumi Henmi (Kishii) and doctor Seiji Hirono (Matsuyama) once again work with patients and their families to create a soulful drama about living life to the fullest until the very end.
In addition to Kishii and Matsuyama, the drama will also feature Uchida Chika, Sendo Atsuko, Ito Shiro, YOU, and Watanabe Eri.
April 4th will air the "first part." Nurse Henmi in the ward of a nursing home faces terminally ill patients every day. 100-year-old Mr. Anzai gives a speech just as he did when he was a prefectural assemblyman. As Henmi listens intently, Mr. Anzai asks her for a favor, saying he has something he regrets not doing. Henmi finds the person he's been looking for, but...
