"Detective! Night Scoop" (ABC TV, Fridays at 11:17 PM) is a popular variety show where "detectives" tackle outlandish requests and worries submitted by viewers. On March 27th, Detective Daigo Nagami was in charge of "Nagami's Mystery Collection." Shingo Murakami reappeared as Special Director, and Takanori Takeyama (Assistant Director) and Saori Masuda (Secretary) also made appearances.
The second installment of "Nagami's Mystery Collection," released after a year and a half, features three mysteries solved by Detective Nagami: "The High-Speed Spinning Meat Bun!" (Male, 50, Gifu Prefecture), where a frozen meat bun inexplicably spins around in the microwave when heated; "Strange! Squid Noodles in the Men's Restroom!" (Male, 60, Nara Prefecture), where squid noodles are placed on every tray between the urinals in a drive-in's men's restroom; and "The Mysterious Shelf That Makes Strange Sounds" (Female, 35, Hyogo Prefecture), where opening and closing a drawer produces a harmonica-like sound even though there is nothing inside.
Both Detective Nagami and the client were thrilled when the steamed bun finally started spinning on the third try. The shelf that was making strange noises, which they initially thought were the work of a ghost, turned out to be the work of an old-fashioned chest maker.
