Official Hige Dandism:Shinichi Tsutsumi's first Sunday drama theme song, "GIFT," features a new song, "Stardust."

It was revealed on March 19th that "Stardust," a new song written by the four-member band "Official Hige Dandism," has been chosen as the theme song for the TBS Sunday drama "GIFT," starring Shinichi Tsutsumi, which will begin airing in April at 9 PM. This marks the band's first time providing a theme song for a Sunday drama.

Set against the backdrop of wheelchair rugby, a parasport, the story follows Wutetsu Fumito, a genius astrophysicist played by Tsutsumi, as he searches for answers to difficult problems facing his underdog team. Through this process of intensely engaging with his teammates and family, he learns the importance of friendship and redemption. This marks Tsutsumi's first leading role in a Sunday drama series in 27 years.

Official Hige Dandism is providing the theme song for a TBS drama for the third time, following "I LOVE..." for "Koi wa Tsuzuku yo Dokomademo" (2020) and "TATTOO" for "Pending Train" (2023). This time, the theme song, "Stardust," was created based on Official Hige Dandism's feelings, as they were deeply moved by the strength of the characters' emotions and their way of life in "GIFT." The song will be unveiled during the drama's first broadcast.

As I continued reading the script, all those thoughts about what song I should sing, or whether it would be accepted as the theme song, just vanished from my mind.

Rather than trying to "be close to" the characters, I wanted to create something that was completely based on what I felt. I vividly remember how deeply moved I was by the strength of the characters' feelings, and by the way everyone lived their lives, both athletes and non-athletes alike.

I'm really looking forward to seeing what kind of emotional gift I'll receive when this song, "Stardust," comes together with the artwork.
