Yoshikazu Yasuhiko:The 78-year-old master manga artist completes his manga "Silver Road - A Tale of Handa Silver Mine -" and has a conversation with the author of "Kingdom".

The final 24th chapter of "Gin-iro no Michi - Handa Ginzan Ibun -," a manga by 78-year-old "master"Yoshikazu Yasuhiko, who is active as a manga artist and other fields, was published in the 16th issue of the magazine in which it was serialized, "Weekly Young Jump" (Shueisha), released on March 19th, bringing the approximately one-year serialization to a close.

Yasuhiko, also known for his character designs for the anime "Mobile Suit Gundam," has published manga such as "Namuji," "Yamato Takeru," "Rainbow Trotsky," and "Mobile Suit Gundam THE ORIGIN."

"The Silver Road - A Tale of Handa Silver Mine -" began in March 2025 as a short-term, bi-weekly serialization. This was the first time that Yasuhiko had serialized a manga in Shueisha's manga magazines, including "Weekly Young Jump," and it depicts the story of Tomoatsu Godai, a great merchant of the Godai Tomoatsu era, who paved the way for the restoration of the silver mine, set in Fukushima.

When "Inui and Tatsumi - The Transbaikal War Chronicles," which ran in "Afternoon" (Kodansha) from September 2018 to May 2024, began serialization, it was announced that it would be Yasuhiko's "last new series." However, it turned out not to be his "last," and he started a new series, albeit a short, intensive one, which also became a topic of discussion.

To commemorate the series' conclusion, issue 16 of the magazine featured a conversation between Yasuhiko and Yasuhisa Hara, the creator of the manga "Kingdom." The complete version was also published on the website "Tonari no Young Jump," which also introduced Yasuhiko's workspace.
