The sixth episode of the popular TBS Sunday Theatre "Reboot" (Sundays at 9pm) starring Ryohei Suzuki was broadcast on March 1st. Regarding the fact that Inspector Makita (Hideaki Ito) knew that Hayase (Suzuki) had been impersonating Gido, there was widespread criticism on social media that "there must be something shady going on."

Disguised as Gido, Hayase is arrested after the police search his house. While he racks his brains over how to cover up the illegal gun he found in his room, he is released on the grounds that nothing was found in the room.
Meanwhile, Makita secretly returns the gun he recovered from Gido's house to Hayase and tells him, "You know, I'd be in trouble if you were gone." He then reveals that about six years ago, he discovered that Gido had been connected to Fuyuhashi (played by Ren Nagase) and was receiving money in exchange for police information. Wanting to take down a prominent politician who was said to be the next prime minister, Makita explains that he made a deal with Gido to work for him in exchange for not arresting him.
"Why are you telling me that?" Hayase pretends not to understand. However, Makita reveals that he felt something was off about Hayase from the day he returned to work after six months, and that he checked his fingerprints and knew that Hayase was impersonating Gido.
"Aren't you Goroku's (Kitamura Yukiya) spy?"
When Hayase pointed this out to Makita, he denied it, saying, "That's a big misunderstanding. I'm a man on the side of justice who is pursuing Goroku and the whale behind him."
On social media, people were excited, saying things like, "Inspector Makita is scary. He knew from the beginning that Hayase had been rebooted by Gido, and he's been plotting all this," "Makita hid the illegal gun for him. Does that mean Makita is on Gido's side?", "I don't know if I can trust Makita either," "In the flashback scene, Makita was such a righteous man that it felt strange. Makita is still a bit of a gray area," and "Ito Hideaki is really shady. There seems to be something shady going on."
