The final episode (episode 9) of the drama series "Okome no Onna - National Tax Agency Document Investigation Division, Miscellaneous Affairs Room" (TV Asahi, Thursdays 9pm), starring actress Nanako Matsushima, was broadcast on March 5th, and the average viewership rating (according to Video Research, Kanto region, same below) was 9.4% for households and 5.2% for individuals.
The drama is set in the newly established "Complex National Tax Case Processing Office (commonly known as Zakkoku)" of the Tokyo Regional Taxation Bureau's Document Investigation Division (commonly known as Kome, because of the character for rice, which means "fee"), which boasts high information gathering capabilities and investigative skills in tax investigations. The drama follows the talented investigator Yoneda Seiko (played by Matsushima) as she, along with a group of unique individuals, takes down unscrupulous tax evaders.
In the final episode, the final enemies that national tax investigator Masako Yoneda and her team face are Sakoda Kuranosuke (Inoue Jun), the chairman of a credit union who is complicit in creating slush funds for a political family, and Haijima, now known as Takaba Naoya (Katsumura Masanobu), who has just made his political debut. The two plan to take advantage of the festival to temporarily evacuate the hidden assets, or buried treasure. The true motives of Masako's father, Taji (Akira Terao), then become clear...
