On February 10th, model and TV personality Maria Tani appeared at a press conference for the Abema romance reality show "Love Power Kingdom 2," for which she serves as MC, held in Tokyo. With the 14th approaching, the conversation turned to Valentine's Day, and Tani reminisced about her memories from high school, saying, "Everyone would come and watch during recess. They would wave at me and say, 'Maria-chan,' but I'd wave back, just like that high schooler," which got the audience excited.
After hearing Tani's story, "Personally, my peak was when I was in high school, and even though it was Valentine's Day, I received chocolates from men and a few women," Seiya of the comedy duo Shimofuri Myojo asked Tani, who is an "Degawa Girl," "Have you given chocolates to Degawa (Tetsuro)?" Tani replied with a smile, "I want to give him some every year, but we don't see each other much in February (we often have different location shoots). I'm hoping this year will be the year, but I might not give him any (laughs)."
After hearing Tani's comment, Seiya retorted, "Please give it to me!", causing everyone to laugh, and Tani responded with a smile, "(To me, Degawa) is my father in the entertainment world. I would like to give it to him with gratitude."
The "Love Power Kingdom" series is a romance reality show in which 16 handsome men and women who consider themselves popular and live "extremely popular" lives engage in high-class man-woman tactics to determine the most popular man and woman. In addition to Tani, Seiya, talent YOU, and Fuma Kikuchi from the idol group "timelesz" will serve as MCs.
When asked what has been improved since season 1, Tani said, "It's deeper, I guess. It's a more adult battle for popularity." YOU responded, "One of the things I enjoy watching is wondering how the contestants will act and what words they will choose, plus I find myself looking forward to seeing more deep scenes. It's fantastic. Be sure to watch."
The first episode of "Love Power Kingdom 2" will be available from 10:00 PM on February 11th.
