Singer and impersonator Kodai Matsuura has become the first person to conquer the hard mode of the popular "Chorus Karaoke" segment of "Chidori's Oni Renchan." The hard mode has been around for about four years, but Matsuura has achieved the feat of being the first to conquer it.
The Oni Hard mode is characterized by singing five songs at level 10, the most difficult level. It was created about four years ago during the special program period, and although 23 challengers have attempted it 39 times in total, it is a difficult challenge with no one having achieved it. Matsuura, who holds the record for the most Oni Renchan challenges, having conquered normal mode twice and medley mode, finally broke through this stronghold.
Matsuura-san had only made it six tries in her previous attempt, and at Nobu-san's suggestion, she was forced to change her name to "Miss Tamankin's First Samurai." Furthermore, she had to make it nine tries in the hard mode to get her original name back.
At level 10, he sang "Hakitachi" (King Gnu) and "Soranji" (Mrs. GREEN APPLE), and for the eighth song he chose "Mephisto" (Queen Bee), the biggest difference of 20 sounds in the show's history, and for the ninth song he reclaimed his original name with Kenshi Yonezu's "LOSER." He finished by singing Mrs. GREEN APPLE's "Boku no Koto" and successfully achieved the Oni Renchan. After achieving his goal, Matsuura said, "It may be thanks to Mrs. Staminakin's first samurai. It gave me the strength to have nothing to lose," and expressed his gratitude to his godfather, Nobu.
