The second episode of the TBS Tuesday drama "Mirai no Musuko" (Tuesdays at 10 PM), starring actress Shida Mirai, aired on January 20th. Viewers cheered on Yano Makoto, played by Hyodo Kokai, for his kindness, saying, "It makes you want to root for him."

Makoto is a young member of the Albatross theatre company to which Mirai belongs. He is attracted to Mirai's single-minded dedication to everything she does, but he keeps his feelings to himself.
One day, Makoto finds Mirai asleep in the rehearsal room. He gently covers her with a blanket, but Mirai doesn't notice.
On another day, Mirai suddenly canceled a rehearsal, incurring the wrath of the troupe's leader and director, Masao (played by Shiono Akihisa). He followed up on her, saying with concern, "I'm sure there must have been a reason why you canceled at the last minute."
Mirai still can't see what's really going on in Makoto's mind. "Are you okay? Is something wrong?" Makoto sends a message to Mirai, but there's no reply from her for a while. The reply that arrives about four hours later is a simple "Sorry for worrying you. I'm fine!"
On social media, the topic became a hot topic, with comments such as, "Makoto is so brave, you just want to root for him," "I love Makoto, and I love Hyodo Koukai too," "I hope Yano Makoto gets his comeuppance," "Makoto seems a little sad after Mirai's simple LINE reply. I think she really wants him to rely on her and ask for advice more," and "It was so touching when Makoto gently covered her with a blanket."
The drama is based on the popular manga "My Future Son: A Son Came Down From Heaven After 10 Years of Singles!" written by Kumiko Aso and illustrated by Hajime Kuromugi. Mirai, who is unsatisfied in love, work and dreams, suddenly becomes a mother. Through raising a child, she learns about living with others and supporting each other, and starts living again. This is Shida's first role as a mother in 20 years, since the 2006 drama "14-Year-Old Mother" (NTV).
