Musical actor Yoshio Inoue serves as the MC for WOWOW's program "Live Broadcast! Yoshio Inoue Musical Hour 'Yoshio's Musical'," which will showcase the charms of musicals. The 30th episode, which will be broadcast live from 10:00 PM on February 4th, will feature Teppei Koike, the lead actor in the musical "Doronpa."
"Doronpa" is the second installment of the "MOJO Project (Musicals of Japan Origin project)," a collaboration between Watanabe Entertainment and playwright Kenichi Suemitsu. It's a story of the love and bond between parent and child, centered around the theme of "yokai," a uniquely Japanese culture. Koike plays the yokai Enra, while Ikoma Rina, Higashijima Kyo, and Kiuchi Kento play the yokai themselves. Tomona Yabiku plays Tono Sawako, the human possessed by Enra.
The live broadcast from the studio will be about one month before the opening, providing a rare opportunity to learn how a new original musical is made. There will also be a singing performance, including songs from "Doronpa" and a duet.
Koike said, "I am very happy to be able to appear in 'Yoshio's Mu' this time. Although I have not yet co-starred fully with Inoue-san in a production, I have had the opportunity to work with him several times and have been inspired each time. I am excited to see what kind of conversation we will have this time. I have also heard that we will be singing together, so I am really looking forward to our first co-starring role in a long time."
