"Platinum Family: A Peek into the Magnificent Family" (TV Asahi, Tuesdays at 7pm, excluding some areas) is a program showcasing the lifestyle of a "magnificent family." On January 20th, a newly built mansion in Karuizawa, Nagano, by a world-famous fashion designer will be shown on TV for the first time.
The owner is a fashion industry heavyweight known for his sharp talk and the fashion he designs for big stars like Elton John. Model Izumi Mori visits the mansion, which was completed just last September.
The interior, which the owner himself designed, included a glass brick wall that stretches from the entrance to the living room, and a hallway with perfumes displayed like an art gallery. Mori was excited and said, "It looks like a shop." Chisako Takashima of the studio was also surprised by the owner's overwhelming originality, saying, "I would never have thought of it."
The living room is a modern space with a gray base and black and red accents, and the large windows offer a spectacular view of Karuizawa. The owner's aesthetic is evident in every detail, from the antique side table modeled after a wristwatch to the kitchen, where bright red storage stands out against the black and white geometric patterned walls.
The corners of the walls, pillars, and handrails are all curved, and as a result of the time-consuming construction work, the owner revealed that "the five carpenters in charge stopped talking to me." Furthermore, the owner said that his future plan was to "create a glass-walled room just for eating croissants."
This day will be a special joint program with "Exploring Japan Academic Variety: Tuesday's Yoshizumi Kotaro," and will air until 9 p.m. In the "Tuesday's Yoshizumi Kotaro" segment, Yoshizumi Ishihara, an "airport expert," will introduce his coverage of four attractive airports.
