A documentary program focusing on kabuki actor Ichikawa Danjuro and his family, "We're at Narita-ya," will be broadcast on Nippon Television from 3:00 p.m. on January 17th.
Danjuro, his eldest daughter Ichikawa Botan, and his eldest son Ichikawa Shinnosuke appeared on "24 Hour TV 48" which was broadcast last year. Among them, Danjuro appeared in "Borderless LIVE We are the No Borders!!", which brought together a total of 96 performers from all over the world. With the aim of "broadening the base of Kabuki", he fused Kabuki and Hip Hop to present a performance that transcends boundaries.
This time, we will take a look behind the scenes of "24 Hour Television" and closely follow Danjūrō's thoughts as he paves the way for innovation while preserving the traditions of Kabuki.
It has been 17 years since Ichikawa Ebizo and Kobayashi Mao first met, and the film has been closely followed. The children have grown significantly, showing new faces, and Danjuro watches over them as their father. This documentary is packed with rare footage that follows the family over the course of a year.
